We met a year and a half ago from a personals ad with the intention to shoot photos. Months later, we'd only shot once or twice but spent most of our free time with one another in various forms of fantastic exchange. Deciding in December to leave for Belice, we packed one bag a piece off which we would live, stuffing them mostly with cameras and ways to preserve their rewards. When we returned, we sat in the high-backed booth of a sushi restaurant, an empty ceramic bottle of sake before us, and decided to share our work with a wider audience. Our only expectation was that it would provide impetus to create. We had no idea that we would ever receive the lucid and lovely comments from you like we do these days.
Habe ich eigentlich schon auf den schier endlosen Fotofundus von Tethered To The Sun hingewiesen? Schwerelose Alltagsdoku (wenn Menschen jung sind und viel Zeit haben), zwischen trashig und begnadet, nicht immer safe for work, aber wer will das schon. Vieles ist natürlich von seiner Wirkung her sehr kalkuliert (It's A Man's World), aber nicht dumm, mit schönen Texten zumeist, teilweise cleveren Anspielungen auf bekannte Gemälde - und dem rechten Schuß an unbekümmerter Kreativität...
Einfach machen, geschehen lassen - ein Film aus lauter Stills. Ich mag das.
Update: Nach ein paar Querelen auf Flickr sind Rose & Olive unter einen neuem Account zurückgekehrt.
